Ash sits on the road between Sandwich and Canterbury, one of the larger villages in the area with a genuine mix of housing: older cottages in the village centre, a good proportion of mid-to-late 20th century estate housing, and newer infill on the edges. That mix means project types run the full range, from careful renovation work on an older cottage to a straightforward rear extension on a 1990s semi with good access for machinery.
